The Value of The Person

“I never underestimate the value of anyone who engages me on any level and I respect and appreciate each one…. you should too.”-@MCHammer
This quote struck me when I read it. The value of a person. We get so busy in our lives that we miss out on many opportunities to learn from all levels of persons and educations. Open your ears, eyes and self. You may just learn something. conversations1

Big Plans, Small Motivation

Big plans, small motivation. That is the best way I can describe my students this year. Ask them “Who is going to college?” – They will ALL raise their hands. WHAT?!? Amazing.
Now, I want them all to succeed, that is not what I am saying, but from my view, something got to change in their educational lives. From wince will it come? What will it look like? How will they be motivated to be all that they can be?
Sometimes, I just have no idea, but I guess we will go at it again when I see their lovely little faces on Tuesday. Why? Cause I love my job.

Snow Day

It is amazing to me at what you don’t get done when you have a snow day ~ the level of procrastination is incredible.

When I found out that we would not have school today, I immediately started mentally making my list.  I was going to accomplish mad amounts of work, startle myself at the number of projects I completed, and give myself the proverbial pat on the back for accomplishing so much in so little time.  Go me!

So what did I get done today, you ask.     Nothing from my so called list .  :o   I spent time with my family, made them meals, talked with them, read books to my daughter, etc.

Am I beating myself up?   Not in the least.  As Scarlett O’Hara said in Gone With the Wind,  “Tomorrow is another day.” (Snow day, that is.)sd
